Planting a Seed in Peru

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

Earlier this year, our team had a chance to visit and start our efforts in the country of Peru. We traveled down to meet with other organizations, including the Rotary Club of Paita Centro, with whom we collaborated to host a presentation for the local students on Globalization and Sustainability and to gauge interest in the community for sustainable technologies like Aquaponics. The responses were very positive and we are looking forward to continue our efforts over the next few years as we develop partnerships with locals activists and future aquaponics entrepreneurs.

While the team visited Peru for about two weeks to help start our Peruvian Operations, we also took the time to enrich ourselves with the culture and diverse environments of Peru while helping other organizations. We traveled to Puerto Maldonado and worked with the Alliance for a Sustainable Amazon (ASA) to help with the building of their new tree sapling project while learning more about the way of life in the Amazon Rainforest and how technologies like Aquaponics can help to improve the quality of life for the people that inhabit our planet's lungs.

With your continued support we hope to partner with organizations like ASA to create sustainable living conditions around the world. If you're interested in joining our 2024 Volunteer Trip, e-mail us at info@ruta-verde.org!
